Step One - Apply for a $100 Active Kids Voucher

Apply online for a $100 Active Kids Voucher (optional)​ Don’t forget to use your NSW Active Kids voucher which will give you $100 off the registration fee below. Click here to apply. You will need your child’s Medicare card and 5 minutes to complete the form, after which you will receive your $100 voucher by email, which can then be used at time of registration. NOTE: The voucher is single use only. You will not receive credit for any unused portion. Do not use the voucher for a $20 transaction.

Step Two - Login to Rugby Explorer

Click here to login to the Australian Rugby registration system Once in, click on the ‘Register’ link on the left of your homepage. If you have registered your kids before, they all should be listed here. If any of your children are missing, use the link provided to search for their record. If you are new to Junior Rugby this is where you start. Click on ‘Create a Rugby Linked account’ What you will need:

  • Active kids Voucher number (optional)
  • Child’s height and weight (for the ARU’s age grade dispensation procedure)
  • Passport type photo (for U10s and up. Used for player identification on game day)

Step Three - Complete Online Registration

Online Registration for the boys and girls XVs weekend competition is available and can be completed online or on the Rugby Xplorer app available in the App Store or Google Play. NOTE: Under 6 players are free (after club rebate) and discounts are available for families of two or more players. Things to remember:

  • XV’s is boys and girls. 7’s is girls only at this stage.
  • The club provides a generous family discount. The family discount will only be applied for children linked to your account. Each child must be registered and paid for, one after the other, in one continuous session, for the discount to be recorded.
  • Under 6 registration is free. The charged administration fee will be refunded on application to the registrar.
  • Passport style photos are required for U10 and older.
  • When prompted, make sure your child's record is set to 'public'. This is so the club can see the record.
  • Active Kids Voucher are single use only. There is no credit provided for partial use.

Age groupings – how do they work?

The age group you're in depends on your age at the start of the year. For example, if you're 5 at the start of the year then you're in the under 6s, etc. For players born on the 1st of January the grouping is based on how old you were on the 31st of December of the previous year. So if you turn 6 on the 1st of January you’re in the under 6s too.

What are the fees?

Registration fees vary based on age group and competition payed; under 6s - $31; u7s to u12s - $220; Girls 7s $130 and Vikings $170. There is a discount of $XX each for siblings registered within a family.

What do we get for the fees?

Your registration fees cover gear, insurances, coaching, competition administration fees and individual player participation fees from the Australian Rugby Union.

Each registered player receives:

  • Socks
  • Shorts
  • Jersey (to be returned at the end of the year)
